The journal focuses on Spanish and Ibero-American colonial history and literature, encompassing, broadly speaking, the 16th–19th centuries, with a multidisciplinary perspective. They also consider the common cultural debate in Spain, America and the new Iberian worlds, as well as the theoretical and methodological approaches to examining the colonial era in the light of cultural studies.
