The Vida verda program on Ràdio 4 - RNE has released a new episode titled “Economia Circular i Seguretat Social Alimentària”, featuring a conversation with Joan Rieradevall and Carles Gasol, authors of the book Economia Circular. El camino hacia la sostenibilidad.
In this segment, the authors explain how circular economy offers an alternative to the linear production and consumption model, based on constant extraction and disposal of resources. Joined by Anna Peña, an expert in waste management and recycling at ReZero, the conversation explores practical examples of companies already applying circular principles, the importance of innovation, and the need for cultural and business changes to reduce environmental impact.
The podcast also briefly addresses food social security topics, although the main focus is on the transition toward a more sustainable economy. The episode encourages reflection on how to reuse materials, extend product lifespan, and promote more efficient and environmentally friendly production.
