The Publications Service of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will participate in the 8th edition of the International University Book Fair (FILUNI), to be held from 25 to 30 August at the Exhibition and Congress Centre of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City.
UAB will participate alongside seven other universities, whose publications will be displayed at the Xarxa Vives stands (34 and 35), serving as a shared showcase for the scientific, academic and cultural output of these institutions.
The presence of university presses at FILUNI strengthens the international visibility of academic publishing and helps expand the circulation of university books throughout the Ibero-American region. The catalogue on display will highlight the disciplinary diversity of university publishing in the Catalan-speaking territories, featuring works on research, teaching, science communication, the humanities and culture.
A strategic event for university publishing
FILUNI is one of the leading international events dedicated to university and scholarly publishing. The fair brings together university presses, publishing professionals, distributors, booksellers, libraries, researchers, academics, students and the general public, fostering networking opportunities, distribution agreements and cooperative projects among higher education institutions from Europe, Latin America and the United States.
Reflecting its scale, the 2025 edition brought together more than 350 publishing imprints and offered visitors access to over 25,000 titles. In addition to the book exhibition, FILUNI features an extensive programme of conferences, seminars, colloquia, workshops, book launches, round-table discussions and artistic activities related to the production and dissemination of knowledge.
Through its participation in FILUNI, UAB reaffirms its commitment to inter-university cooperation, knowledge transfer and the internationalisation of academic publishing in the Catalan language.
