On Friday, 14 November, at 12:30 p.m., the Gorgs Secondary School in Cerdanyola del Vallès will host the presentation of the 2025 UAB Literary Awards winning works, jointly organised by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council.
The event will be hosted by Berta Rubió and will feature several performances by Pulmon Beatbox, offering a creative blend of words and live music. Representatives from both organising institutions will attend: Virginia Luzón, Vice-Rector for Communication at the UAB; Andrea Borrego, Councillor for Culture of Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council; and Conchi Martínez, Councillor for University and Knowledge City.
The award-winning authors of this edition are:
- Francesc Cabiró Gómez (Tortosa), with Aquell any a Xangxun, winner of the 31st Valldaura – Pere Calders Memorial Novel Award.
- David Carreres Lacasa (Castelló), with Allà on t’estime, winner of the 30th Miquel Martí i Pol Poetry Award.
- Sergi Félez Navarro (Esparreguera), with Indòmit, winner of the 16th Caterina Albert Short Story Award for Young Writers.
The three works have already been published by the UAB Publications Service, in both print and digital formats, and are available in its editorial catalogue, which annually includes the winning titles of these literary awards.
During the event, the 2026 UAB Literary Awards call for submissions will also be presented, continuing to promote literary creation in Catalan and to recognise both emerging and established voices in today’s literary scene.
Through this gathering, the UAB and the Cerdanyola City Council aim to celebrate literature, acknowledge the work of the awarded authors, and thank all contributors who make these awards possible, especially the members of the jury.
